Lakeland, FL – Today, Kristen Carlson’s campaign announced that initial polling of the 2018 General Election showed Carlson leading Representative Ross Spano by one percent. In 2016, Trump won the district by a 10 point margin.
Carlson, a former prosecutor and General Counsel to the Florida Department of Citrus, led Representative Spano with 48 percent of the vote to his 47 percent – five percent of the electorate was undecided. Notably, Carlson has a 10 point lead among NPA voters.
Carlson’s campaign manager Conor Hurley released the following statement:
“Kristen Carlson’s vision of making healthcare more affordable, and protecting Social Security and Medicare is clearly resonating with the hard working people of Florida’s 15th district,” said Hurley. “Kristen is focused on the issues that matter to voters and not the partisan politics of Washington, DC. This district needs a representative that will stand up for working families not special interests, and voters know that Kristen is fighting for them.”
Kristen Carlson is a former prosecutor and General Counsel for the Florida Department of Citrus. She exposed companies adding harmful chemicals to juice, and worked with the Department of Justice to stop corporations from cheating the United States out of millions in taxes. Carlson will take the same approach to Congress. She’ll put aside the partisan politics and work with both parties to protect Florida tax payers.
